Meet Sharon Kingsford, Volunteer Coordinator for the Kind Mouse! Read about her lifelong commitment to making a difference, in her own words…

“I grew up in a small village in Guyana, South America, where we did not have daily running water or electricity.   I have fond memories of taking food from my mom’s pantry to bring to food insecure neighbors.   I moved to the US at the age of 13.  After graduating I worked in the mortgage industry for over 25 years and volunteered in many soup kitchens in NYC until I moved to St. Petersburg where I continued to volunteer with Meals on Wheels.  My husband and I have brought up our two daughters to be mindful of the needs of the less fortunate and they make us proud by often donating their presents to charity.  I started working for the Kind Mouse soon after my daughter donated her 10th birthday presents to The Kind Mouse. I have made lots of friends while working here, attended many events and feel great being able to make a difference within the organization and in our community.”
